”Activities related to submitting Proposals, opinions and requests
The Toyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry is striving hard in its activities to submit effective proposals for government policies that more widely develop the local community as well as supporting activities in economic areas.I'ts timely activities relate to a wide diversity of fields including urban development,development of traffic systems, promotion of tourism and culture, reformation of the tax system,as well as business promotion measures and the promotion of industry. Thus, it is striving to submit constructive opinions and requests to the national, prefectural, and municipal governments and other related organizations.
”Promotion of international exchanges
The Toyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry is striving to advance private economic exchanges and international trade as well as showing significant recent progress in international economic exchanges.
We also dispatched an overseas investment environment survey party composed of senior members, supporting corporate activities striving for private-level international exchanges and helping small and medium companies find markets abroad through linkage with JETRO(Japan External Trade Organization).
At the same time it is devoted to deepening international mutual understanding through cultural and economical exchanges with friendly cities and sister cities of Toyama Prefecture and Toyama City.”Promotion of local industry and tourism
To meet changes in our industrial structure and more sophisticated needs of our consumers, we are striving to develop high value-added products and promote local industries involved in developing new business fields, while creating a balanced layout of commercial facilities in this area.We are also deeply involed in sponsoring festivals and many other events, further increasing tourism in this area.

To promote small and medium companies, which will play significant and important roles in economic development, the Toyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry provides in-depth services including guidance for developing management ability, and heIping secure financing services through our consulting office for small and medium companies to solidify their management foundation.”Public relations and information services
To inform our members of various projects and news about local industry, the Toyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry issues a monthly bulletin entitled "Shoko Toyama(Commerce and Industry Toyama)"We also conduct various economic surveys to supply data to our members and related organizations.
”Improvement of skills commerce and industry
Under the joint sponsorship of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Toyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been implemented various licensing examinations such as for abacus calculation, bookkeeping, wordprocessing, retailsales, English typewriting, business English, etc.In 1994, approximately 5000 people took the examinations. At the same time, we strive to improve their skills in local commerce and industry by providing training courses for the above.
