Fushiki Hikiyama Festival (Kenkayama)
This is the spring festival of Fushiki Shrine, held every year on the 15th of May. During the daytime, flower-decorated floats with beautiful flower umbrellas parade around the town in the refreshing sea breeze. At night time, don’t miss the lantern floats (with approximately 360 lanterns) violently crashing into each other. It is for this reason that the nickname Kenkayama (“Fighting Floats”) was given to the festival.
